CARROTS

Plant early in the Spring and carefully weed for the best success.  Keep moist when young, as seedlings are prone to drying out.  Soils rich in organic matter produce sweeter carrots.  Carrots are generally classified as either Nantes types which are short, straight carrots that resemble fingers, Chantenay types which are blocky at the stem end and taper to a thinner carrot at the root tip, or Imperator types which are long and skinny usually 10 inches long or more.  Approximately 2000 seeds/pkt. unless otherwise noted. UPDATED FOR 2024
